Another question that I regularly got was “What are you going to eat?” When I get into town every two to four days I’ll be able to pick up a wide variety of food. Usually I’ll pick up some fruit or salad that I can eat the first day, then after that I’ll be eating a lot of food that only needs water added. Here is a list of food that I’m bringing for the first four days.
- Breakfast
- 2 Breakfast Bars
- 1 Granola Bar
- Lunch
- 2 Tuna or Chicken Wraps
- Snacks
- Dried Cranberries
- Trail Mix
- Oreo Cookies
- Dinner
- Chicken Pho with a Chicken Packet.
A couple of weeks in I will have to start eating more food because Hiker Hunger will kick in. Then I’ll need to be eating 3000 to 4000 calories a day. I’ll still be eating the same types of food that I’m bringing initially, I’ll just need to eat more.
I start hiking tomorrow from Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia.
