Pearisburg Overlook

When I woke up this morning it was only 37 degrees out. I thought I was done with these cold mornings. I stayed in my hammock until almost 8 waiting for it until it warmed up. Once I got up, I packed quickly and hit the trail, it had warmed up to almost 50 by the time I left.
I was hoping to get to town by 11 am so I didn’t have time to dilly-dally this morning. I only had a little over eight miles to town, but there were a lot of little ups and downs. After a couple of days of clouds and rain it was nice to have a beautiful day hiking. Along the ridge I had wonderful views of the valley below.
When I made it to town I headed straight for a pizza place. I downed a pizza and a couple of Cokes while my phone charged a little. Then it was off to the grocery store for a resupply before heading to my hotel for a shower and laundry. A typical town day.
I’ve got about 95 miles to Daleville where I hope to get some new shoes. I did 8.9 miles with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
